CII/CPAR eNotification leads to a better outcome during COVID-19

For Edmonton family physician Dr. Janet Craig, eNotifications provided to her electronic medical record through her participation in the Community Information Integration/Central Patient Attachment Registry (CII/CPAR) initiative have proven to have potentially life-saving impacts.

Early this year, a patient of Dr. Craig’s entered an emergency department with respiratory issues. He was discharged and sent home. What happened next is inspiring.

Five privacy tips for virtual appointments

As physicians, we have made leaps and bounds during the pandemic to support our patients and colleagues. One of the newest obstacles we have had to overcome is incorporating unfamiliar technologies into our roles in order to provide continued care to those who need us. Here are five tips to make your virtual appointments more secure.

What are the five tips?

Survey Corner

Health care partners and other organizations often seek physician feedback through surveys. This month, the following is available for your consideration:

Family medicine physicians are invited to participate in a study exploring clinical reasoning. Participation will involve responding to common clinical scenarios present in community practice. This study will provide researchers the opportunity to explore the behavioral underpinnings of clinical reasoning and how resultant clinical decisions are made. This study may take up to 1 hour to complete. All results will be completely anonymized and pooled for analysis. This study has been approved by the University of Calgary Conjoint Health Research Ethics Board under ID: REB20-1770.
