Wondering about the future of AMA’s PFSP?

Alberta Health has funded the PFSP as part of the benefits stream in the Master Agreement with the AMA since 1998. For over 20 years physicians, medical learners and their immediate family members have benefited from the PFSP’s program services including the 24/7/365 Assistance Line, Case Coordination services as well as Education, Prevention and Promotion programs.

To raise awareness of the Alberta Government’s plan to review the administration of the program by March 31, Dr. Sue Reid shared her personal experience with PFSP in the most recent article of Alberta Doctors’ Digest. She highlights the critical role PFSP has played in her own life, shares the voice of other physicians in Alberta and notes “AMA funding for our PFSP may not continue beyond March 2021. The government may also place the program under the direction of another organization, e.g., AHS. If either (or both) of these outcomes occur, there will be predictable and significant negative impacts that should concern us all.” Read the full article here.

Asking for support is a sign of strength – call PFSP now or find more information on the AMA website.
