What do you think of eReferral's usability?

Survey closes on October 10

eReferral users are invited to complete the annual eReferral User Experience Survey to share feedback on eReferral’s usability, i.e., its effectiveness, efficiency, flexibility and more. Information shared through this survey will help identify future areas for improvement that can benefit all users and enhance referral-consultation processes for better patient care in Alberta.

The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete and all answers are anonymous. There is a voluntary option to enter your name into a draw for a chance to win one of two prize packs. Winners will be named at the end of October.

Do RNs conduct cervical screening in your practice?

It is the 20th anniversary of the Alberta Health Services Alberta Cervical Cancer Screening Program. To mark the occasion, AHS has improved the provincial approach to support registered nurses who perform cervical cancer screening. These services are within scope of practice for RNs, and they have an important role. This enhanced approach increases consistency across practice settings and streamlines processes, reducing additional administrative work for physicians.

If RNs conduct cervical cancer screening in your practice, please be aware of the following:

RNs performing Pap tests can now submit samples using their CARNA ID. This process improves quality assurance by monitoring samples based on each ID. RNs must register with the lab as a new health care provider before submitting samples.

Resources available on screeningforlife.ca to support RNs in this capacity and enhance quality of care:

Survey Corner

Health care partners and other organizations often seek physician feedback through surveys. This month, the following are available for your consideration and possible participation:

Survey to measure who is working in Alberta as a physician and their experiences of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. The survey takes between 10 and 15 minutes to complete and asks questions about identity. Responses are anonymous and viewed only by researchers. Study conducted by researchers from the University of Calgary and has been approved by the University of Calgary Conjoint Health Research Ethics Board (REB20-1183).

Editor's note: "Survey Corner" presents survey requests received and reviewed by the AMA, that may be of interest to our members. We will publish new opportunities as we receive them.
