Need help with the diagnosis of a work-related injury?
Expedited orthopedic surgeon consultations are only a referral away.

With a network of orthopedic surgeon partners, WCB-Alberta can offer you and your patients expedited consultation through it's new Diagnostic and Treatment Consultation (DTC) service.
 
Here is what you can expect when you refer a patient for a consultation:

1. An orthopedic surgeon will examine your patient and provide you with their findings, expert recommendations and/or respond to any questions on your referral. The surgeon will not take on a treating role; decisions regarding ongoing care for your patient will remain under your direction.

2. A consultation letter will be sent to you within two business days of the exam to ensure you have prompt access to the information you need in caring for your patient.

3. You may request the consulting surgeon contact you directly to discuss findings if you wish.
