Apply today: Healthy Working Environments Advisory Committee

The Healthy Working Environments Advisory Committee is looking to fill five member positions. The application deadline is September 1.

The purpose of the HWEAC is to provide informed advice and guidance to the AMA Board of Directors in developing inclusive policies and innovative practices that support safe, caring, inclusive and healthy working environments for physicians. The focus will be to advance the goal of working with and for physicians to address system issues which impede attaining a safe, healthy, and equitable working environment.

Updating your provider/prescriber information now simplified

Alberta Health Services has launched a new form to Request for Provider/Prescriber Set-Up in Health Information Systems. The form allows community providers to advise different groups within AHS as well as affiliated organizations of new information or changes to your:
  • Provider/prescriber name; professional and Connect Care identifiers; practice location(s); locum status
  • Clinic/location/client/office name, demographics (address, contact information), etc.
  • Preferred method for receiving results and other information from AHS and affiliated organizations
The form replaces the following forms:
  • Alberta Precision Labs Healthcare Provider Information and Set Up
  • DynaLIFE Healthcare Provider Setup Request
  • eDelivery Service Request

New pediatric reasons for referral added to eReferral Advice Request

On July 22, 2021, Dermatology – Northern Alberta added Pediatric dermatology issue as a new Advice Request reason for referral in the North, Edmonton and Central (north of Red Deer) Zones. Pediatrics – Community Pediatrics also added Plagiocephaly (headshape) issue as a new Advice Request reason for referral in the Calgary Zone. When submitting yours, please consider adding photos to support the specialist responding to your Advice Request.

As of July 2020, there are 43 specialties accepting eReferral Advice Requests across the province. View a list of eReferral specialties and their reasons for referral. For help with submitting an Advice Request, view eReferral quick references. For additional training support, please contact the eHealth Netcare Support Services team at 1-855-643-8649 or email ehealthsupport@cgi.com.

The SUPPORT-Pro online platform: helping health care professionals to increase their confidence levels in treating individuals living with T1D
The main objective of this study is to determine if the SUPPORT-Pro online training platform can increase HCPs’ confidence level in treating individuals with T1D. The Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montréal’s ethics committee has approved this study (2021-1107).
