Voting now open: Tentative Agreement Package

On Monday, March 8 voting opened on the Tentative Agreement Package between the AMA and government. Information is available on the AMA website: Tentative Agreement Package (member login required). The AMA Board of Directors invites you to review what has been negotiated and strongly encourages you to vote in favor of accepting the tentative agreement. Voting closes Tuesday, March 30 at 4 p.m.

We've also provided other helpful materials including an overview video to guide you through the elements of the agreement as well as an initial Question and Answer page, which will be updated as questions are received from members.

As you review what we have prepared for you, you can email AMA President Dr. Paul Boucher questions anytime and receive a direct answer. Alternatively, you may wish to share thoughts and questions with colleagues. Please visit our discussion boards to participate in discussions you find there or start your own. Stay tuned for a recording of our recent town hall as well as opportunities to attend future sessions.

The tentative agreement offers many benefits, but also presents challenges. The Board believes that the profession, the health care system and patients will fare better in the next few years with this tentative agreement than without it. All of this will need to be considered and weighed as you make your decision. Be sure to acquaint yourself with what has been negotiated and cast your vote to tell us if you agree.
